"Smoke and Sun, and a love I have not known"

To a woman who means much to me,

I smoke on the river and think of you sadly,
as streaks of madness cross my mind,
and ripple like the poison ivy
stroking my sore arm
with benevolence.
Spending a week in a hospital
stocked to the brim with sadness,
can not beat my heart;
for with one bat of her heavenly lashes,
my soul ascend into a rush,
luscious and sweet,
without the singing singe of a
needle and thread to meet me,
where pangs of hunger
lust.

Her pure sweeps me off my feet,
and gives as much haze
as the ringing bells
on a sunlit Sunday.

If clouds should tumble and play
‘cross the Sun’s bright ray,
the light of her eyes
brushes my melancholy
off a cliffside,
with a strength I have not known;
it is happiness,
which comes to find me again. ~

"Psych-ward Blooms"

A flower doesn’t bloom within the confines of glass houses; despite sun and heat — which glass cannot contain — the world still grows. It reflects the sky across the distant ocean from which I am bound. This glass engulfs and splashes the wild sound of waves like tongues — sparkling and lapping against ancient walls of sand and salt — Genesis itself gapes endless into the void— into a cosmos held within a thought.

inhale exhale inhale
in
out goes stress
and in goes sin
never good enough
inhale in
until the lungs
collapse again

lullaby-blind:

collaborate with crazy
and barter with disgust
to feel anything
without letting it show
a warm, dark fluid
swirls around in my chest
and I promise to release it
if my mind can briefly rest

Wild poetry from a woman I am mad about.

overall, I feel
like a small bit of dust
flecked under the bed
waiting and needing
all but more space
because this small isolation
seeps in from all sides
